Unboxing the Pablo Escobar Fold 2: A Mysterious Foldable Phone

This is a very, very interesting unboxing. We have not unboxed so many phones in the last two to three years, but no phone has been like this. Everything about it, from its form factor to its background and history, is a complete mystery. We are talking about the Pablo Escobar Fold 2. We will unbox it and share our first impressions.

How We Received This Phone

You might be wondering how this phone got to us. An email was sent to the company from the Trackin Tech channel, requesting the Pablo Escobar Fold 2 for review, along with five units for a giveaway. We received a reply, which we initially supposed was fake. We replied that if they still wanted to send a unit, we would unbox it, and they sent this phone for review. We did not actively pursue it, but they sent it to us. We won’t be talking much about who Pablo Escobar was; we think you already know.

What’s Inside the Box?

Let’s open the box. This is the Fold 2. The golden finish is nice and lovely. Inside the box, you will find a USB Type-C cable. This is a different kind of unboxing because there is nothing else in the box except for the phone and the cable.

Price, Variants, and A Serious Warning

The unit we received is the 10GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. There is another variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Remember, this is a foldable phone, and its price will surprise you. The 8GB/128GB variant is priced at $399 (around 28,000 – 30,000 rupees), and the 10GB/512GB variant costs $550 (around 35,000 – 40,000 rupees).

However, we will not be providing a purchase link. There are many stories online about people who order this foldable phone but never receive it. Because we are reviewers, we received a unit, but the general public often does not. We will say this much: think ten times before placing an order.

Design and Build Quality

The phone has a plastic film on top, but underneath, it is fully golden. The logo is printed on it. The build quality feels really good in the hand; it’s very nice. The golden hinge is also well-made and has “Fold 2” written on it. The front is glass, not metal. The feel of opening and closing the phone is also very good. However, you can see a crease on the display even though the phone is brand new.

The Big Reveal: It’s a Samsung Galaxy Fold 2

This is not some other phone; this is the Galaxy Fold 2. As we turn it on, you can see another brand’s name appear on the screen. The wallpaper features Pablo Escobar himself. There is also a second screen on the outside. The display quality is excellent. It’s like a tablet screen where black is truly black.

Specifications and Features

When looking at the specifications, it’s clear that this is a Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. All the specifications found on that device are present here. The phone is based on Android 10 and is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor. It supports 5G. There is nothing different. It has a 4,235 mAh battery. The inner display is a 7.3-inch OLED 2K display, and the smaller outer screen is 4.6 inches.

Camera System

The phone comes with a total of six cameras, just like the Galaxy Fold 2. On the back, there is a triple camera setup with 12-megapixel, 16-megapixel, and 12-megapixel lenses. On the inside main screen, there is a 10-megapixel plus 8-megapixel dual camera setup. On the front, above the smaller screen, you get a 10-megapixel camera.

Performance and User Experience

For multimedia consumption, this is a great phone. The crease is visible, and we are not sure about its long-term durability after three or four months of use. The time for foldable phones for mass consumers has probably not yet come, but in the next 12 to 18 months, this technology will get much better.

For this device, the multimedia and gaming experience will be very good. The performance is absolutely top-notch with the Snapdragon 855 processor. We will be using this phone for a few days to experience it.

First Impressions: A Rebranded Device

Should we recommend this phone? We don’t know, because you might lose your money. Many people have complained that they bought it but never received it. When a phone that should cost $1500 is being sold for $400, there is something fishy. Our first impression is that this is simply a Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.
