Introduction
This is the iQOO Neo 10 Pro. It’s called the iQOO Neo 10 Pro in India. We’ve specially ordered it from China for you. The iQOO Neo 10 Pro is different & the Neo 10 Pro is here. But overall if I talk about the 10 Pro, there’s 1 thing that stands out, it’s DNA. The performance of the iQOO Neo series at a great price, that’s what the 10 Pro does very well.
Feel and Weight
When you hold it in your hand, it doesn’t feel heavy at all. Even though it has a 6100mAh battery, it feels very light. Last time it was vegan leather, if I talk about the Neo 9 Pro. This time, it’s a composite plastic back. But I think this frame is metal, but it’s not a metal frame. It’s an alloy type plastic frame, but it definitely looks like metal.
It looks good, but there are no internal lines, so it’s not metallic. It feels really nice to hold in hand. Let’s check its satisfaction moment. Nice! Should I talk about the weight? No, that’s not possible. I think it’s 188-189g. But it’s a 6100mAh battery, how can it be below 190g? But it’s 195g. It’s 206.7g. But it’s still ok, you’re getting a 2 day battery life, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Very nice! The in hand feel is very good. Seriously, I’m enjoying holding it.
Buttons and Sim Card
Ports & Buttons SIM Card Tray, Microphone, USB Type C, Speaker Grill Power On & Off Button, Volume Rocker, IR Blaster, Noise Cancelling Microphone There’s nothing on the left-hand side. Let’s see the SIM card tray. It’s not going to be an SD card slot, but it’s a dual nano SIM card slot. That’s a given.
Price
Let’s talk about the display. Before talking about the display, let me tell you about its price. It’s going to launch in India around mid-Jan. I think it’ll be priced around Rs 35-37K. Its base variant is 8GB RAM or 8GB RAM 256GB. But the base variant in China is 12GB RAM 256GB.
Display
Look at the display, it has very thin bezels & the chin is very thin. It’s a big display of 6.78” with 1.5K resolution & 120Hz fast refresh rate. It’s an AT LTPO display, which means the refresh rate goes from 1Hz to 120Hz. And yes, it’s 120Hz but in some scenarios it goes upto 144Hz. In terms of brightness, it’s very bright with 4500 nits peak brightness. You get 1800 nits brightness in HBM high brightness mode. And if you have stereo speakers, then the video viewing is going to be amazing. And the quality of the stereo speakers is also good. So the multimedia is excellent.
Specifications
Let’s talk about the specifications. It comes on 8th Gen i.e. the flagship processor launched in 2023. The flagship processors launched in the 1st half & 1st 9 months are on this chipset. Its AnTuTu score is above 2M. It has LPDDR5X RAM type, UFS 4.1 storage type, 6100mAh battery, 120W wired charging support.
There’s no wireless charging support & there’s no IP. But yes, what’s given is good. You can easily play games on the highest settings & you get 120FPS. In fact, the iQOO phones, especially the Neo series, are performance oriented. Even if I talk about the thermals, if you play for a long time, then it gets hot in the middle. But the heat dissipation is good. I’ll still say that the thermals are quite decent. We ordered this from China & that’s why it comes on Origin OS which is based on Android 15. When it comes to India, it’ll come on Funtouch OS 15. I really need that Origin OS India version. It’ll be fun! I’d say it’s nearly a flagship.
Performance:
In terms of performance, the iQOO 8th Gen 3 has a AnTutu score of 2M. That’s more than enough for 99%! In fact, many brands are going to see this trend. They’ll bring phones on top of the iQOO 8th Gen 3 flagship last year at much lower rates. So the phone you got in Rs 60-65K last year with that performance, you’ll get the same performance in Rs 25K this year.
You’ll get it in Rs 35-37K. Imagine that! There are some serious flagship features which aren’t available in many flagships. For eg, there’s an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. There’s a face unlock, connectivity options. I won’t talk much as it’s a Chinese variant, but when it comes to India, it’ll support 5G.
All those options will be there. If I look at iQOO phones generally, the cameras are good. Especially for flagships like iQOO 13 & 12. The DNA of Vivo comes in iQOO phones. But this is a mid range phone.
Camera
I’d say that it has a 50MP primary sensor with 8MP rear camera. The primary sensor is IMX921 from Sony. So it clicks good pictures. The only thing is that it doesn’t have a telephoto lens. Telephoto has become very important these days. And you’re paying Rs 35-40K for it. According to me, there should’ve been a telephoto lens. As I said, in normal conditions, the portraits & skin tones are good with the primary sensor.
But if you zoom in, the details are lost. It looks like a water colour. We’ll definitely tell you according to India’s tuning. I’d say it’s an average camera. But if I talk about iQOO Neo series, they’re not camera oriented. It’s display, performance & battery is amazing. Then comes the camera. So camera will be in 4th & 5th spot. The rest is seriously flagship level. If I look at its Chinese price in Yuan, it’s Rs 28-29K. But obviously that price won’t come in India. In India, it’ll be about Rs 35K. If it’s cheaper than that, then it’s a serious performer. The performance is right up front.
Conclusion
Performance, display & battery are all big tick marks. This is the iQOO Neo 10 Pro. I’m really waiting for this. If you’re looking for a mid range flagship phone in Rs 30-35K, then you should definitely wait for the Neo 10 Pro. The camera is decent, as I said it’s average. That’s all for this quick unboxing of the Neo 10 Pro.
